But last week, I witnessed Senate Republicans blocking a bill to help veterans that they previously supported in overwhelming numbers. Why? Because they were angry at Democrats. And because they could.

We can't afford to let our Nation be subject to the whims of people who would play power games with our lives and our future. You deserve better.

Despite holding just 50 votes in the Senate, Democrats have used our razor-thin majority to deliver relief for millions, save lives through millions of vaccinations, and keep small businesses in business.

Yet there's so much left to do.

As we see temperatures around the globe reaching record levels, workers struggling to make ends meet, and price gouging at the pump cutting into family budgets, I can't help but wonder who will pay the price next if we fail to deliver enough votes to overcome the filibuster this November.
