Team,
The fight for reproductive rights extends around the world. That’s why we have 870 attorneys working in 55 countries to protect and advance reproductive rights as fundamental human rights.
From fighting the practice of expelling pregnant girls from school in Tanzania to bringing cases before the United Nations Human Rights Committee challenging practices that deny abortion care to girls who were raped in Latin America, we are doing everything in our power to fight back against some of the most extreme and discriminatory policies and practices across the globe.
The generous support of people like you allows us to stand up for women and girls whenever and wherever we are needed. Please make a generous contribution of $25 or more today and it will be MATCHED $5 for every $1 to support our work around the globe in the coming year, thanks to a group of committed Center supporters.
Yesterday, we celebrated International Human Rights Day and the monumental gains we have made in securing the right to abortion as a human right over the past several decades. Nearly 50 countries have liberalized their abortion laws, and while some of these reforms have been incremental, many have been truly transformative, overturning absolute bans on abortion in favor of protecting women's reproductive autonomy.
Despite this progress, 90 million women still live in countries where abortion is completely prohibited—even if the woman's life is at risk or her pregnancy results from rape. We will not rest until we live in a world where the right to safe and legal abortion is respected as a fundamental human right.
Will you help us create that world by making a generous gift today? Don’t forget, any gift you make before the end of the year will be MATCHED to go six times as far in supporting our vision!
Onward,
Center for Reproductive Rights
