JOHN,
Tonight is our first budget deadline since we won the primary, and I’m reaching out to ask you to join our unity campaign with a contribution. Making an investment in our campaign, no matter the size, means that you’re ready to bring dignified representation back to Maryland’s First District.
Will you make a grassroots contribution today to support our movement for change?
There is so much at stake in this race, and we can’t afford to waste one second in our efforts to defeat our traitorous, extremist representative, Andy Harris. You may not see him on TV or in the headlines as much as some of his far-right buddies, but he’s right there with them, causing us such embarrassment.
This week, Andy Harris was one of 20 Republicans to oppose a law to protect human sex trafficking victims – an outrageous betrayal of our district that is only a capstone to all the other ways he has voted against our values this month. Andy has been busy in July, but for all the wrong reasons. He has voted NO on three separate bills creating federal protections: one for same-sex and interracial marriages, another for contraception and birth control, and a third for abortion access. As the Supreme Court has failed to protect us, we need federal laws to guarantee these rights.
We also found out this month that Andy Harris was one of just ten members of Congress who conspired directly with Donald Trump to overturn the 2020 election and incite the violence at the Capitol on January 6th. He betrayed his oath of office and is unfit to serve in Congress for another minute.
I need your help to defeat him. This race is about defending our values here in the First District. I’m not running against Andy Harris because he’s a Republican and I’m a Democrat. I’m running because he has turned his back on our community. I’m running because he’s a traitor and I’m a patriot.
That’s why I get up every day and travel across our district. I will be a leader for our communities who listens deeply and finds solutions to the most pressing issues facing our region. And I’ll bring people together, not seek to divide at every turn. Let’s turn down the partisan rhetoric and turn up the problem-solving.
That’s the leadership I’m committed to bringing to the House. If you’re with me, I hope you’ll make a grassroots contribution to our campaign before tonight’s deadline.
Thank you for standing with us,
