Dr. Caraveo began as a pediatrician in Adams County, but after taking a look at the injustices of the health care system, she decided to run for the state legislature to further advocate for her patients. In her time serving, she became known for taking on tough fights and standing up for Colorado families.

Now, she's ready to bring the fight to Washington and become Colorado's first Latina representative.

After redistricting, Colorado gained an 8th Congressional District. It's going to be not only the most competitive district in Colorado, but also one of the most hotly contested House races in the entire country.

The Cook Political Report, Sabato's Crystal Ball, and Inside Elections have all rated this race a "toss-up." Kevin McCarthy and the NRCC have doubled down by naming Yadira's extremist Republican opponent a top member of their "Young Guns" program, and they're ready to spend whatever it takes to win.
