As you know, Democrats have the slimmest possible majority in the Senate. It’s made it difficult to make meaningful progress on a number of important issues — from climate action to defending our democracy and the right to vote. But Republicans being put back in charge would be an absolute disaster and dangerous for all of us. So we need to look for our best chances to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Flipping Pennsylvania is without a doubt one of our best chances to pick up a seat in November. It could be the seat that expands the majority and makes it possible to pass more significant legislation through the Senate. Frankly, if one of our incumbents loses, it could be the seat we need to save the majority from Mitch McConnell.

The good news here is that this race is extremely winnable.

Dr. Oz is a TV star who has spent years grifting off of people’s health concerns to sell “quack treatments.” He’s praised the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and pushed Trump’s big lie. Not only does he not share Pennsylvanians’ values, he doesn’t even live in the state!

Meanwhile, John Fetterman is a great candidate. He understands what working people need, and he’s dedicated to fighting for a better future for our families. He got his start in politics by running for mayor of Braddock in response to gun violence that plagued his hometown. And in the Senate, he will not be afraid to end the filibuster to pass legislation that can protect our rights and democracy and shift the balance of power back toward working people.

But Republican super PACs have limitless sums of money from billionaires and wealthy corporations, and they will spend anything it takes attacking John to try to hold this seat. It’s important that we ensure John has the resources to fight back.

So if you can, please split a $5 donation between John Fetterman’s campaign to flip Pennsylvania’s Senate seat and my work to defend our majority. We cannot afford to let Dr. Oz anywhere near this seat and put the gavel back in Mitch McConnell’s hand.
