Dear Friend — Washington is in crisis, and I ran for Congress to be part of the solution.
Here are a few of the things my colleagues and I have been working on since then:
-Passing the biggest ethics and voting rights reform in years (H.R.1)
-Passing the first real gun violence legislation in decades: universal background Checks (H.R. 8) and closing the Charleston loophole (H.R. 1112)
-Holding the U.S. accountable to the Paris Accords by passing legislation that requires the President to develop a plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 26-28% (H.R. 9)
-Passing legislation that protects LGBTQ rights (H.R. 5)
-Introducing legislation to ban toxic PFAS chemicals from our water (H.R. 2600)
-And holding the Trump Administration accountable for their obstructions of justice in the Judiciary Committee
But there's so much more to do.

I’ve spent the last several years standing up for Pennsylvania’s working families in the state capitol, but I’m ready to use my experience to now hold President Trump accountable in Washington. Our families deserve someone representing them that will fight for the middle class (not for deficit-exploding tax cuts to the wealthiest); that will adequately address the opioid epidemic devastating our communities; that will protect a woman’s right to choose, and that will stand up to the gun lobby as if our children’s future and lives depend upon it — because they do.
