John,
Before the first month of our new fiscal year wraps up tonight, we want to say thank you.
Thanks to the generous contributions from supporters like you, we’ve already started this new chapter off strong. John Galvan (represented by the Innocence Project), Arthur Almendarez (represented by Joshua Tepfer of the Exoneration Project), and Francisco Nanez (represented by the Office of the Cook County Public Defender) were all fully exonerated this month after spending a combined 105 years in prison for a crime they did not commit. Victories like this wouldn’t happen without this community rallying behind us and the work to free the innocent.
But our work is just getting started. At every turn, we must fight police misconduct, coerced confessions, and unreliable forensics, which contributed to these wrongful incarcerations. We’ve got big plans for this new fiscal year, and we need your help to accomplish them.
We’re so close to our $25,000 fundraising goal, and we’ve got just a few hours left to get there. Will you help us start our new year as strong as possible by making a donation before tonight’s midnight deadline?
This work is demanding, but it’s always worth it — helping those who’ve been wrongly convicted regain their freedom will always be worth it. With you in our corner, we know we can help so many more innocent lives.
Thank you for contributing to our work,
— The Innocence Project Team
