‌ ‌John,

Can you believe we are 100 days away from the midterms?! With so much going on, I wanted to make sure you saw Liz’s email below. TL;DR: we have a huge announcement coming next month and need your help reaching our July fundraising goal to support our upcoming work! We’re short of our goal by about $3,792 and if 253 donate just $15 we’ll hit it. Can you chip in $15 before midnight to help us out? [[link removed]]

Read on to see the latest redistricting news, what’s to come, and where we go from here.

Subject: Stay tuned for a big announcement…

John,

Before we get to our big announcement, let’s talk redistricting news. These past couple of months have been quite eventful.

While we break down all that’s happened, let’s take a look towards the future:

- The United States Supreme Court agreed to hear Moore v. Harper, a case based upon the insane “independent state legislature” theory, which could fundamentally alter our democracy. The Court will likely hear the case in the fall.
- The Ohio Supreme Court rejected gerrymandered Republican congressional maps for a second time as they violated a ban on partisan gerrymandering. Undemocratic maps will be used for this election cycle, but will be redrawn in the future.

This decade’s redistricting is far from over: many states like Ohio and North Carolina will be redrawing maps for the 2024 elections, and you can bet that we’ll keep fighting to make these maps fair and inclusive. Most importantly, we know the significance of Moore and our affiliates are supporting plaintiffs to help preserve our democracy.

We have a $30,000 end-of-the-month goal for July. The clock is ticking, and we would greatly appreciate any donation you can give. Our work can’t be sustained without your help, and we’re so grateful for your continued support. Can you chip in before midnight on July 31st so that we can reach this fundraising goal? Here’s what we are so excited for: we have a huge announcement coming next month. While the full details will be announced soon, we can share a little sneak-peek.

The majority of states have concluded their redistricting proceedings for 2022, but the fight for American democracy never ends. We are now looking towards the future. We can’t spoil too much -- we’ll leave it to you to guess exactly what we’re planning…

Help us reach our July fundraising goal before Sunday night to support this new and exciting work. Also, keep your eyes peeled for upcoming emails. We can’t wait to share what we have coming! [[link removed]]
