Coming in 2020: Boost Your Budget Week
Older adults leave $20 billion in federal and state benefits unused every year. We hope to change that by sponsoring the first-ever Boost Your Budget Week, April 13-17. The campaign will encourage struggling older adults to apply for benefits to help them pay for basic needs. We encourage you to participate!

House to vote on prescription drug, Medicare expansion bill
The House of Representatives is expected to vote Thursday on H.R. 3, a bill that includes a broad range of policies to make prescription drugs more affordable and expand Medicare coverage for important services. NCOA joined other members of the Leadership Council of Aging Organizations (LCAO) on a letter praising the bill's expansions in coverage for dental, hearing, and vision services and improving eligibility for low-income protections, while urging members to pass the bill and move the process forward. While several of the bill’s prescription drug proposals are unlikely to receive Republican support, NCOA priorities on improving the Part D Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) and capping out-of-pocket spending are included in the legislation. Advocates are hoping that House passage will spur bipartisan Senate action early next year.
