My name is DeShanna Neal, and I’m a Democrat running for Delaware’s State House of Representatives in the 13th District because I’m sick of living in a state where we value corporations more than people.
Delaware controls corporate laws for all of America. People like Trump’s fixer, Michael Cohen, routinely use this state to avoid basic oversight and dodge taxes, while our actual residents suffer.
As a Black single mother to four children, two of whom are transgender, I know all too well the threats facing our communities and how our lawmakers have been failing them. My previous work as a community organizer and activist has shown me exactly how bureaucracy has stood in the way of progress. As a state representative, I will stand for:
Comprehensive gun control
Equitable funding of Delaware's public schools so kids get what they deserve
Expansion of Medicare and Medicaid
Protecting a woman’s right to choose
Keeping corporate dollars out of our government officials’ pockets
I will not stand for the interests of corporations, and will actively work to end Delaware's corporate loophole status.
My opponent, the incumbent since 2006, is a right-wing, corporate Democrat. He is a retired cop who opposes progressive policies that would help working people, including a tenant's right to counsel during eviction or the right to a clean environment. And he is all too willing to cash campaign checks from companies like Juul and Comcast.
With just 44 DAYS until the September 13th Democratic primary, we still need about $182 raised per day to stay afloat. I pay my field organizers a living wage, $20 an hour. Can you help me today by donating $20?
