John, justice is creeping up on Donald Trump like never before. Over the past few weeks, the leaders of the Jan. 6 committee have revealed shocking evidence in their hearings – and we've learned more about what went on behind closed doors at the White House during the riot at the Capitol.

We now know that Donald Trump's closest advisors told him repeatedly that there was no evidence of fraud in the 2020 election. He STILL spread dangerous lies and conspiracy theories, and he wouldn't back down. Instead, in a ploy to undermine OUR democracy, Trump egged on a crowd of armed rioters and refused to call them off when they breached the Capitol.  

And just this week, we've learned that the Justice Department has been investigating Trump's actions as part of its Jan. 6 criminal probe.  No former president has ever been charged with a crime in the country’s history – but Trump could be on track to change that.

We're so close to ensuring that Trump faces justice, but we cannot let up on our responsibilities to protect the Constitution and uphold the rule of law. Our democracy won't be safe until Trump and his election lies are gone from our politics for GOOD.
