We’re seeing the worst of the far-right extremism in North Carolina.

McConnell and his super PAC allies are putting millions behind bullshit smears against Cheri Beasley. These guys are so afraid of a strong woman flipping this seat that they’ve decided their only hope is to bully Cheri and scare voters with dark money attack ads.

But Cheri Beasley is as tough as it gets. She’s not scared of a challenge and she doesn’t back down. So we can’t either.

I’ve long believed that the South and particularly candidates like Cheri are the future of the Democratic Party. We know it’s not easy, but the fights worth having rarely are.

Cheri has spent years as a public servant — rolling up her sleeves and doing what needs to be done for the people of North Carolina. But there ain't no good reason why she should have to take this fight on alone.
