Hi John,

I’m Eva, and I’m the new Digital Engagement Manager at Rock the Vote! I wanted to reach out to introduce myself and let you know about some exciting updates now that we’re just 100 days away from a critical midterm election!

Up until now, Rock the Vote has primarily been sending you important reminders about dates and deadlines for elections in your state, as we’re committed to providing clear, accurate, and up-to-date voting information so that no one misses an opportunity to make their voice heard.

But so much of our work also focuses on building the political power of young people, who continue to experience major barriers to registration and voting due to limited access, opportunities, and infrastructure.

That’s why we’re excited to participate in a new campaign with our partners to bolster as much support as we can for the Youth Voting Rights Act — a recently introduced bill in Congress that would help break down those structural barriers to ensure that every young person has easy and equal access to participating in our democracy. Will you join us?

If passed, the Youth Voting Rights Act would help fulfill the promise of the 26th Amendment, which granted 18-year olds the right to vote in the first place. More specifically, it would:

• Let young people pre-register to vote so they can participate as soon as they turn 18
• Expand opportunities to register to vote at public colleges and universities and require on-campus access to voting sites
• Codify a student’s right to vote from their campus address
• Guarantee student ID is accepted as voter ID where required
• Create a $26 million grant program for youth involvement in elections

With attacks on voting rights — in addition to other personal freedoms — heating up across the country, I’ll admit that the past 100 days have not been easy. We’ll be doing everything we can these next 100 days to register and mobilize more young voters through our cutting-edge civic technology, and we hope you’ll join us in raising your voice in support of this game-changing legislation.

Contact your members of Congress NOW and urge them to support the Youth Voting Rights Act » [[link removed]]

Thanks for being a part of this movement. I look forward to sharing more actions and opportunities in the coming weeks to help strengthen our shared democracy!

Onward,

Eva Piatek
