Being a cop is dangerous. 

Law enforcement officers have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world right now, as violent crime rates continue to skyrocket in cities everywhere. 

What many average citizens don't realize is that officers are at high risk of severe physical injury on the job every day, and often do not receive adequate medical care ... It can all change in an instant - without warning. 

That's why I'm writing to you today...

When you hear horrible news of an injured police officer, most people assume the medical treatment and ongoing care are covered ... But far too often, that is not the case. 

Most permanently injured and disabled officers never receive the necessary medical care and financial assistance they deserve and need.

... That's where Code3 comes in. 

We support these injured officers and help to equip them with the resources they need to recover and regain their life.

Nearly every month in this country, 30 officers are shot in the line of duty. Even more are attacked with knives, vehicles, and other weapons ... and don't forget about hand-to-hand combat, foot pursuits and other dangerous encounters. 

But sadly, many injured officers and their families do not have the benefits to take care of medical expenses and basic essentials.

There is very little support for officers who survive a deadly encounter and are disabled - That's why we have created this national petition.
