Co-leader Adrian Ramsay called on the two Conservative leadership candidates to shift their focus away from chasing economic growth and instead explain how they will run an economy that lives within its planetary means, in this Guardian exclusive.

Caroline Lucas appeared on BBC Newsnight to talk about the Tory leadership candidates and climate change. She said: "The issue of climate change ... simply has not featured in the debate so far ... it really is quite shameful that the candidates haven't said more about this." 

Natalie Bennett appeared on LBC’s Cross Question with Iain Dale, during which she spoke about a range of issues, including the cost of living crisis, the Tory leadership contest and the extreme heat we have been experiencing. Appearing on the Jeremy Vine on 5 show, Green peer Jenny Jones pointed out that “a lot of solutions to climate change impacts are actually good for the cost of living".

Co-leader Carla Denyer was listed as one of the year's 25 most influential women, alongside campaigners, activists and artists. 

 

The number of Green councillors is continuing to grow. Greens are now in power in 19 councils and are the official opposition in a further sixteen. A Green Party councillor, Catherine Braun, was just appointed the leader of Stroud District Council. We've also seen defections to the Green Party in Manchester and in Lancaster as well as massive Green gains in by-elections around the country. Councillor Caroline Jackson spoke to the Lancaster Guardian about her first year as the leader of Lancaster City Council and about nurturing a politics of cooperation between different parties. People are waking up to the climate emergency and seeing the Green Party as the only party that will take the action needed and do politics differently.
