In just a moment, I'm going to ask you to pitch in ahead of our important end-of-month fundraising deadline tomorrow. But first, I hope you will give me a chance to explain why this request is so important.

It’s no secret that our Democratic House majority is slim. Republicans only need to flip four seats to hand the gavel over to Kevin McCarthy and enact their right-wing agenda — which even includes implementing a nationwide abortion ban. And John, my seat is one of their top targets.

You see, after winning my last election by just 1.3%, Republicans think they can easily squeak by and flip this seat — which is why it’s no surprise they didn’t waste a second before throwing their support behind my dangerous anti-choice opponent.

And with the GOP’s rolodex of megadonors keeping their campaign coffers stuffed to the brim, my team and I are expecting an avalanche of right-wing attacks on our campaign between now and Election Day.

Now, I’m not sharing this to scare you or make you feel discouraged. I have no doubt in my mind that this team is strong enough to take on right-wing megadonors and win a tough race — we’ve done it before! — but only if we’re willing to fight for it and give this election our all.

Right now, our campaign is working around the clock to knock doors, keep our ads up and running, and get our message out in front of voters across the district — and we’re counting on grassroots supporters just like you, John, to help provide the resources we need to power this work.
