Friends, Over a year ago, I got in this U.S. Senate race to beat Ron Johnson and return this seat to the people of Wisconsin. Now, the only thing that has changed is how we get there. As a mom, I think about my son Hartley’s future and what’s best for ALL of our kids and families. As a proud western Wisconsinite, I think about how we’re going to do right by everyone — in every corner of our state. As the only woman in the race, I think about how we restore our reproductive freedom. Too often, Washington overlooks so many of the challenges working families face. So I stepped up to run for U.S. Senate because I believed we needed more working moms at the table who would fight like hell to make these issues a priority. I still believe that. But, If we want to restore our reproductive freedom, lower prescription drug costs, expand affordable childcare, and more — this is the moment to get behind Mandela Barnes and come together to defeat Ron Johnson. I’m so proud of what our 72-county campaign has accomplished, and it’s been a great privilege to represent western Wisconsin in this race. While I may not be on the ballot in November, every issue we fought to bring front and center in this campaign will be. To so many supporters across Wisconsin who encouraged me to stay in this fight: I’m not going anywhere. To all the women and girls who have reached out to me who are angry and scared about the loss of our rights — and who don’t want to stop until those freedoms are fully restored — I want you all to know that I will ALWAYS be in this fight, and I will ALWAYS work to defend our right to make our own health care decisions. To our incredible staff, volunteers, and grassroots donors across the state — and across this country — who fought alongside me: Thank you. This has been the best experience of my life because you’ve all shared this journey with me. I would not be here, and we would not have made it this far, without each and every one of you. And finally, to the people of Wisconsin: In 2018, you took a big risk on this political nobody from Eau Claire, and together, we stopped Scott Walker’s power grab and saved the State Treasurer’s Office. You took another chance on me when I decided to run for State Treasurer and — having never done anything like this before — won. It’s been the honor of my life serving the people of our great state and delivering results for our communities. That’s something I’ll continue to do in the months ahead. And I’m so grateful for all of you who took a chance on me now. Every Wisconsinite who put their trust in me, and welcomed me into their homes, businesses, and lives. It’s been the honor of a lifetime to run to be your U.S. Senator. This campaign may be over, but our fight is just getting started. I know the only way to beat Ron Johnson, re-elect Tony Evers, and make sure Democrats win down the ticket in every corner of Wisconsin is if we’re in this fight together. Thank you, Wisconsin. Thank you all. Forward! Sarah Godlewski
