John – We’ve written to you time and time again about the state of the race in Connecticut’s 5th District. The GOP is all in on flipping this seat, with almost $4 million in ad buys already.
Here’s the grim reality of a Republican majority:
- This week, House Republicans overwhelmingly voted AGAINST the CHIPS ACT to reduce manufacturing and consumer costs.
- This week, House Republicans overwhelmingly voted AGAINST veterans and the Honoring our PACT Act, bipartisan legislation to give veterans exposed to toxic burn pits the help they need.
- Republicans voted NO on marriage equality.
- Republicans voted NO on access to contraception.
- Republicans voted NO on lowering the price of insulin.
- When Democrats proposed lowering prescription drug costs, making America more energy independent and making sure corporations were paying their fair share, Republicans wasted no time expressing their disapproval.
In short: When helping veterans, workers, seniors and the American people actually comes up for a vote, DEMOCRATS are the ones voting YES!
The stakes are too high this November. Connecticut families simply cannot afford a Republican-controlled Congress. No one can.
This is the final monthly deadline before we lock in our budget so we can communicate with voters. We have our most ambitious communications plan ever, to blanket the airwaves and web with Jahana’s long list of accomplishments and our positive message. But we must have the resources to talk to every voter in all 41 towns.
We’ll be honest, John: We’re not quite at the point where we are able to fully fund our entire strategic plan. Will you rush a donation to help us hit our goals ahead of the July fundraising deadline on Sunday?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
We need to continue investing in ALL of the pieces of this campaign to win – TV ads, mailers, field organizers, etc. – or else we risk our message being drowned out by national GOP money.
While Republicans vote against things like funding to ease the baby formula shortage crisis, capping the price of insulin at $35/month, and expanding access to health care, Jahana and her Democratic colleagues have DELIVERED all of these things (and more) through Congress.
This is the message that we need to convey in ads, online, on TV, and on the ground to voters ahead of Election Day. Jahana Hayes gets things done!
But with millions and millions of dollars ALREADY being spent in the district to spread attacks and lies about Jahana’s record and positions, we have to be fully funded. Will you donate to make sure we have the resources to get our message out above the noise?
We cannot do it alone – thank you for your continued support.
– Team Hayes
