John, I have a quick but important update on our response to the ongoing flooding in eastern Kentucky.
This disaster is directly impacting areas inhabited by many of the children and families with whom we work in rural Kentucky. At least one of our local partner schools is underwater, and it will take time to fully assess the damage.
Our top priority right now is distributing urgently needed supplies, including water, hygiene kits, diapers and cleaning supplies. Our second priority is initiating cash transfers to families who are at risk of losing everything. As soon as it is safe to do so, we will work to restore vital child care programs and get children the psychosocial support they need to recover from this traumatic event.
Based on the unprecedented devastation and immense need we are seeing in the region, we set a goal to raise $1 million for children and families impacted by this disaster. In moments of crisis like this, we are relying on your support more than ever, John.
Please, will you rush an immediate donation to help provide crucial emergency support to children and families facing unprecedented devastation in Kentucky? : [link removed]

Thank you for everything you do to protect children’s lives and futures. Please keep the people of Kentucky in your thoughts today.
