Tomorrow is the LAST day to close the gap on our July fundraising efforts to raise an additional $20,000 in grassroots funds before we head into the election month. But we still need to raise $4,475 to see our fundraising efforts through.
This is one of the most important fundraising deadlines our campaign has faced, andour final FEC public report before the election is in early August. We have ambitious get-out-the-vote plans to pay for — so what we do right now is what could make or break our campaign.
As we prepare for what is sure to be a tough election season, we'll need to ramp up our offense and our defense. That means we'll need to pay for everything from transportation for volunteers and canvassers and the tools and resources to continue sharing our movement with our communities, to digital ads, mailers, and television ads. But our opponents are gearing up to do the exact same thing to ensure Jamaal is a one-term Congressman.
Our competition is being funded by GOP mega-donors who would rather deal with complacent, conservative Democrats than steadfast progressives in order to maintain an unjust and broken status-quo. Over one hundred thousand dollars was mobilized from GOP donors to stop Jamaal, and over one million dollars has been raised by our opponents.
This isn't just some arbitrary fundraising deadline — our grassroots power is the lifeline of our campaign. And without your support and faith in this movement, we'll have to scale back our GOTV plan and send fewer mailers, run fewer ads, and hold fewer organizing events.
That would mean Jamaal and our progressive movement might be at risk come Election Day. But we won't let that happen.
