Hey there, it's Cory.
I know times can feel heavy right now, but there’s promise on the horizon — if we come together to fight for it.
When I think about all that Senate Republicans have blocked us from doing, I remind myself to focus on the light ahead. Cheri Beasley is someone who gives me that hope, so I’m reaching out today to ask you to support her campaign before Sunday’s deadline.
She’s running one of the best campaigns we’ve ever seen in North Carolina. Despite National Republicans blasting her with despicable and false attack ads, she’s stood strong, fought back and kept the race neck and neck.
As a former public defender, judge and the first Black woman to serve as Chief Justice of North Carolina, she would bring a perspective and experience wholly unique to the U.S. Senate — all the while making history as the Tar Heel state’s first Black senator.
Like me, she believes that not only is a future possible where each of us has the opportunity to thrive, but that it is what our children deserve. She will be a relentless fighter for justice and ensure we live up to the promise of America.
But if we are going to flip my dad’s home state of North Carolina, then she needs all of us to get involved. That's why I am urgently asking you to support my friend Cheri Beasley’s campaign for U.S. Senate in North Carolina before her July deadline:
