Hello Friend,
This month is coming to an end really soon, and there is so much I could talk about. Yet, today I want to discuss what unites me and YOU.
Yes, you!
If you’ve been part of the American Dream Team for any length of time, you have heard me talk about my optimistic vision for our country. An American Dream that I have been blessed to live from the small humble home of my grandparents in North Charleston, South Carolina, to the hallowed chambers of the Senate.
I love to tell the story of my family's American Dream coming true because it proves that in America, everything is truly possible for those who would dare to try.
Think about it, Friend. My family went from cotton to Congress in ONE LIFETIME.
That’s what makes my story unique. It represents the incredible transformation that can take place in this nation when we live up to our full potential together. In fact, the transformation of our country is reflected in the life of people like my grandfather.
In his lifetime, he saw a time when many black men just like him could not read a ballot, much less run for political office. Yet he would live to see his own grandson become a Senator in the exact same country.
And that is where you come in Friend! What will be the story of your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren? What transformation will take place in this nation between the moment you read this and the final ballot you get to cast in your lifetime?
You may not have the answers to all of those questions just yet. And that's okay. But as living, breathing proof of the power of the American Dream, I want you to know that what we do today will make the very things we see as impossible, the norm for the next generation of Americans.
So today Friend, I want you to know how much I appreciate you. Whether you see it every day or not, your support for America, for me, for the American Dream is creating the very future we can only imagine today.

God Bless you all!
Let’s keep up the good work.
