Friend – on the 20th we hosted an exclusive webinar to brief activists like you on what’s at stake with the
Biden administration’s draft 5 year plan on oil and gas leasing.
We heard from
Sara Chieffo, VP of Government Affairs at LCV,
Liz Mering from the Cook Inketkeeper, a community-based nonprofit organization that works to protect Alaska’s Cook Inlet watershed and the life it sustains,
Loreley Godfrey from Seacoast Students for Sustainability, a youth-led group advocating and fostering environmental progress within Seacoast communities, and
Nadine Guillory from Climate Action VA, LCV’s grassroots volunteer chapter in Virginia.
The turnout was inspiring! We had over 150 supporters join us and get involved in the fight, take action by submitting a comment on offshore drilling, and sign up for a future training on peer-to-peer texting (a virtual volunteer opportunity) to spread the word about the comment period to other supporters before the comment period
ends in less than 70 days!
With the Supreme Court making it harder for the EPA to regulate climate pollution,
it’s more important than ever to tackle climate change at the source: by keeping fossil fuels in the ground.
If you weren’t able to join us last week,
watch the recording of the webinar now to learn more about this fight and how you can get involved.
Then,
RSVP for our volunteer peer-to-peer texting training to reach out to fellow LCV supporters about submitting their comments to stop offshore drilling and getting involved in the fight. This is a virtual volunteer opportunity to take your involvement to the next level in making a difference in the fight for climate justice.
Our collective actions this summer will be critical in stopping climate change at the source, and we need more activists like you to join the fight before the comment period closes.
Thank you for everything that you do!
