I know firsthand that for John, being in Congress is about helping the people of Connecticut and defending Americans from GOP attacks at the federal level. But, we need a Democratic majority fighting with him to do that.

Republicans are currently attacking reproductive rights and marriage equality and refuse to take action to address the current gun violence epidemic. In recent weeks, House Democrats have responded with legislation to enshrine these basic human rights into law and protect our most vulnerable populations, including the:

• Women’s Health Protection Act,
• Respect for Marriage Act,
• Right to Contraception Act, and
• a proposed Assault Weapons Ban.

SCOTUS has opened the door for the GOP to implement its decades-long agenda to strip people of their hard-won rights and freedoms.

And yet — they are currently raising more money than us. We need to act immediately to close that gap and send a strong message to the GOP that Democrats are not backing down from these fights.
