Dear Jack,

Mississippi has had a conservative ‘super majority’ for about a decade. But what do we have to show for it?

To be fair, income taxes have been cut. Last year we saw a universal occupational licensing law, making it easier for people to move to our state. We also passed a law to combat Critical Race theory.

Like many in Mississippi, I can’t help feeling that with a conservative ‘super majority’ we ought to be able to do even more. If conservatives worked together towards shared goals, we could implement the far reaching reform that our state needs.

The Mississippi Leadership Academy seeks to encourage the next generation of leaders in our state to work together as a team to drive meaningful change. This six-step program will give young leaders the skills and knowledge they will need to be agents of change.

If we are to achieve change, we also need to build a mass movement in our state. The Mississippi Center for Public Policy has just been nationally recognized for doing this; we have just been shortlisted for an award.
