Fellow Conservative
When we key voted “NO” on the CHIPS Act, it was because we knew it was a bad bill. Some Republicans didn’t listen and voted in support, removing the leverage they had over their Democratic colleagues.
McConnell had previously threatened to sink the CHIPS Act if Democrats tried to push forward with any other major tax and spending bill—specifically, Biden’s Build Back Better (because the tax increases and wasteful spending, we like to call it
“Build Back Broke”).
Sure enough, mere hours after the Senate passed the CHIPS Act, Senator Leader Schumer (D-N.Y.) announced a plan to move forward on the BBB bill with Senator Joe Manchin’s support (D-W. Va.).
There is a lesson here. GOP members never should have trusted Schumer and they shouldn’t have voted for the CHIPS Act.
Now with the CHIPS bill having passed the House <[link removed]> and Senate <[link removed]>, the Democrats have a fighting chance of passing their ridiculous BBB tax and spending bill through the reconciliation
process. <[link removed]>

BBB: Raising Taxes in a Recession
As with other words ("gender," "woman," etc), the Biden’s administration is now trying to redefine the word “recession.” But despite the Biden Admin's denials, America now unfortunately finds itself in a recession—this is per the standard definition of “two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth.”
We are facing a decreasing GDP, 9% inflation, supply shortages including baby formula, a second .75% interest rate hike, falling consumer confidence, a 10% increase in the price of food, and a 60% increase in the price of gas. And what is the solution Democrats have to offer? Tax increases! <[link removed]>
This new, deceitfully introduced bill, would tax $739 billion out of the economy—during a recession! One of the ways Biden plans to collect more taxes is by weaponizing the IRS to increase scrutiny on workers. This isn’t the first time Democrats have weaponized federal agencies against the American people either:
- Biden weaponized the DOJ against parents voicing their opinion at school board meetings.
- Obama weaponized the IRS to target conservative groups that were part of the Tea Party movement.
Democrats are going to raise taxes in order to subsidize their radical Green New Deal policies and fund subsidies to prop up the failed Obamacare <[link removed]> system. Instead of freeing up the oil and gas industry to cheaply and efficiently produce energy, Biden’s plan pursues a “green” energy policy that spends over $369 billion—with much of this money going towards D.C. special interests.
Not only does this bill prolong Obamacare’s failures, it also introduces new price controls on prescription medicines that the government buys through medicare. In effect, the government is pushing the costs for these medicines onto the private market—onto the 82% of Americans not on Medicare.
The effect for the American people will be even higher prices for essential goods. New and higher taxes will raise prices. Wasteful spending will drive inflation.
>>> Take action this week. Call Congress. <[link removed]>
Your elected representatives need to hear from you. In the past 18 months, your calls to Congress have stopped TWO previous versions of Biden’s BBB plan. We can stop it a third time!
Call your senators and representatives <[link removed]> and tell them not to “vote NO” on Biden’s Build Back Broke bill:
- No new taxes.
- No money for D.C. special interests.
- No more inflation.
- And no more meddling with our health care.

Happening on the Hill
Restricting Your 2nd Amendment Rights
On Friday, the House passed a bill to prohibit the future sale of some of the most common semi-automatic rifles. Liberals are more focused on form over function. In some cases the bill bans one version of a gun but allows another version to remain legal—the only difference is the style of grip under the barrel. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) took Democrat legislators to task for their lack of basic firearm knowledge here <[link removed]> and here <[link removed]>. Heritage Action Key Voted against this bill (H.R. 1808). <[link removed]>
Defending Religious Liberty
The right to hold and practice one’s religious beliefs freely is a cornerstone of the American experiment; the Democrats’ so-called “Respect for Marriage Act” would punish those with traditional beliefs about marriage.
In its current form, H.R. 8404 could lead the IRS to strip religious organizations of their tax-exempt status, and it would create a private right of action for activist groups to sue religious entities and individuals, solely for their personal beliefs. The House passed this bill last week, and it is expected that the Senate could vote on it in the coming weeks. Read our press release for more info on this bill. <[link removed]>
Policing Bills
A package of five bills have been introduced to Congress that would impact policing in America. Some of these bills would be counterproductive and only make achieving law and order more difficult for law enforcement officers. We are watching these bills closely and will keep you updated on them.
Thank you for joining us in the fight to hold Congress Accountable.
