The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department joined forces with multiple law enforcement agencies across the state in recognition of their support in the fight against breast cancer.?Each law enforcement agency participating in the LASD Pink Patch Project created a special pink patch that symbolizes their support of breast cancer awareness. The Pink Patch Project is?an innovative public awareness campaign to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations in combating this devastating disease. The project is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs' Association and public safety agencies in Los Angeles County and beyond.?

Preparing for the Unpredictable

Active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. The men and women of the Los Angeles County Sheriff?s Department are constantly training for these type of unpredictable and unfortunate tragedies. On Thursday, July 28, 2022 members of LASD's Temple Station, Tactics and Survival (TAS), and Special enforcement Bureau (SEB) partnered with local Police Departments and LA County Fire Department at Rosemead High School for an active shooter training exercise.?

7-Eleven Robbery and Murder Spree Suspects Arrested

July 18, 2022?

LASD Major Crimes Bureau-Burglary and Robbery Task Force (BRTF) and the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)?s Orange County Violent Crime Task Force have worked together for over 10 years conducting state and local investigations. On Monday, July 11, 2022, LASD MCB-BRTF began to work with a full commitment to the?Orange County ATF Violent Crimes Task Force in a recent investigation of murders and robberies. MCB-BRTF worked hundreds of hours of surveillance and intelligence gathering with and for the Orange County ATF Violent Crimes Task Force. These two task force worked endless amount of hours into the early morning hours throughout Southern California until the arrests were made on Friday, July 15, 2022.?

Sheriff Villanueva Swears in Mayor of City of Walnut?

Sheriff Villanueva had the honor of swearing in Dr. Allen Wu as the Mayor of the city of Walnut.?Every twelve months, a new mayor and mayor pro tem are selected from the council by fellow council members. In 2018, Dr. Wu was elected to serve on the Walnut City Council. Dr. Wu has been active in Walnut's civic and educational organizations since 2000. He has dedicated many years and is very passionate about working with Walnut residents and the community.?
