John -- we hit the ground running this year, thanks to you.
In the weeks and months after launching this journey together, we have traveled the state, and earned support from all 100 counties in North Carolina. We’ve also earned endorsements from more than 140 North Carolina leaders and advocacy groups like the League of Conservation Voters and End Citizens United.
Not only that, but we’ve kept pace with our opponent’s fundraising and brought so many folks into the fold along the way. Our momentum is truly incredible and just goes to show how much this team is committed to winning this thing.
But it’s not enough to simply start strong -- we have to keep this momentum going if we want to have what it will take to win next year. Thom Tillis has Mitch McConnell’s massive dark money war chest behind him. You can bet that corporate special interest groups are piling on to help get him re-elected.
We’re doing things a bit different, John. We’re building a people-powered movement, where every dollar from every individual donor is a critical piece of our plan for success. And we’re rejecting donations from corporate PACs. So, I need to ask:
Will you chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can today to let Thom Tillis and his corporate special interest donors know that we’re only just getting started? Let’s end the year on a strong note by meeting our final -- and most important -- FEC goal of 2019 and head into 2020 in a position to flip North Carolina blue.
We have our work cut out for us. It’s clear Senator Tillis is bought and paid for by corporate special interests and GOP mega-donors. And when he shows up to work in Washington, he’s working for them -- not for us.
It’s going to take significant resources to hire organizers all across our great state, get our message in front of as many voters as possible, and win back this North Carolina seat. And it’s on all of us to step up right now if we want to make it happen.
I believe we can win, but only if we fight for it.
