During our last week in session before Congress goes into recess for the month of August, Democrats have continued to push their radical and irrational agenda on the American people. Democrats fought to pass the CHIPS Act – a bill which will waste billions of taxpayer dollars for the sake of corporate welfare and the expansion of the federal bureaucracy. Democrats also continued the assault on law-abiding gun owners by pushing for H.R. 1808, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2022. I voted NO on both of these measures. Meanwhile, in the Judiciary Committee, I questioned a top DOJ official on matters of national security. During this exchange, he mistakenly revealed that there is an ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop. I will be following-up with the Department of Justice on this investigation.

Yesterday, I joined Sean Hannity on Fox News, where we discussed the events that occurred during Wednesday's House Judiciary Committee hearing. Specifically, I pressed a top DOJ official on Hunter Biden being a national security threat. The FBI and the DOJ are clearly protecting Joe Biden and Hunter Biden, and the evidence shows that the Biden family crime spree is ongoing. Their crime is unfolding before our eyes and needs to be stopped.

In the House Judiciary Committee yesterday, I had the opportunity to question Matthew G. Olsen, Assistant Attorney General of the Department of Justice. The hearing itself was an oversight hearing of the Department of Justice National Security Division. I asked Mr. Olsen a simple question: “Is Hunter Biden a national security threat?” To no one’s surprise, Mr. Olsen was not able to give the American people a clear answer. He did, however, confirm that there is an “ongoing investigation” into Hunter Biden’s laptop and his corrupt business deals.
This hearing was supposed to increase public confidence in our justice system and assure them that the rule of law is being applied consistently. It appears the Justice Department has no trouble targeting parents who voice their concerns at school board meetings, but when it comes to Hunter Biden, they do nothing.

GSOF & CDC GROUP TOWNHALL
Earlier this week, I attended the Global Special Operations Foundation (GSOF) Child Development Center (CDC) Action Group Townhall to share relevant and timely information with my constituents and the broader military community. As an issue of the highest priority, I have personally directed my efforts and those of my staff towards assisting in the identification and brokering of a solution to provide much-needed and deserved family support to the Special Forces community.
This is a central issue to hundreds of Northwest Florida families connected to our military mission.
ACADEMY NIGHT AT NICEVILLE HIGHSCHOOL SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST
On Tuesday, August 16th, my office is hosting our annual Academy Night at Niceville High School (800 E Johns Sims Pkwy, Niceville, FL), from 6 – 8:30PM. The Academy Night is an opportunity for high school students to speak directly with me and Service Academy representatives to learn more about the process for granting admission to the U.S. Service Academies and receiving a Congressional Nomination (required for entry). All high school students, JROTC groups, parents, principals, and teachers are invited to attend this event to learn more about entry to the U.S. Service Academies.
