Since the last Assault Weapons Ban expired in 2004, the number of mass shootings in our country has ballooned, and the casualties from assault-style weapons on our streets have increased dramatically. That’s why I introduced a new Assault Weapons Ban, to outlaw these weapons of war and save lives.
It’s heartbreaking that we keep having to have this debate, with so many recent examples of assault-style weapons being used to kill innocent people: Buffalo, Uvalde, and in the Highland Park 4th of July parade.
