This week, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing to conduct "Oversight of the National Security Division." Our witness was Matthew Olsen, the Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Justice’s National Security Division.

I questioned Mr. Olsen about a disturbing trend emerging in the DOJ's efforts to detect and thwart domestic terrorism plots. Specifically, weeks before the 2020 election, the FBI announced it had foiled an alleged plot to kidnap the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer. Two years later, the story is quite different. 

Two of the men charged were acquitted on grounds of entrapment. The jury was hung on two others, and their retrial begins next month. 

It is clear from the current evidence that federal agents cooked up this operation, trained recruits to carry out the FBI's plan, directed recruitment efforts, and incentivized the informants with handsome paydays in order to keep the plot moving forward - all on the taxpayers' dime. It leaves an important question: Is this how the DOJ carries its operations?

The New York Times even admitted the FBI's role had "muddled" the case. The agency relied heavily on 12+ informants and two undercover agents, who amounted to nearly half of the group being monitored.

Many details remain unknown, including two important questions: who approved this operation and who oversaw it?

The American people deserve answers. That's why I questioned AAG Olsen about the way the DOJ is carrying out its business. He refused to answer important questions, including: Why did the DOJ announce the case so close to the 2020 election? How much did it cost?

Democrats Ram Through Assault Weapons Ban

Today, Democrats rammed through their so-called assault weapons ban in the House of Representatives. This week, radical liberals tread ever-closer to their eternal goal of destroying the Second Amendment.

Democrats admitted to me that the goal of this legislation is to ban weapons in common use. This legislation flies in the face of the Constitution and the Supreme Court's prior rulings, especially Heller. I voted against this bill, and will continue to fight against all efforts to curtail American's Constitutional rights.

CDC Promoting Radical Gender Ideology and Sex Change Operations to Children

The CDC is using taxpayer dollars to promote a horrifying website, "Q Chat Space," where a moderator encourages children to question their sexuality, polyamory, and other such topics. Even worse, this website is designed to be hidden from parents.

Biden’s Redefined Recession

It's official. The United States' GDP contracted for two consecutive quarters – the definition of a recession. Sadly, rather than take responsibility, the Biden White House is instead attempting to redefine the word "recession" and sending so-called fact checkers after anyone who dares to call out their hypocrisy. 

Bidenflation is crippling our nation, yet the federal government continues its' spending binge at a record pace. Sens. Schumer and Manchin's so-called "Inflation Reduction Act" will only continue this disastrous policy - spending an additional $700+ billion and raising taxes on hurting Americans in order to "combat inflation." 

We cannot continue to spend ourselves into oblivion. We must take responsibility and stop shoveling more and more money into the inflationary furnace. I will stand firm against any Democrat efforts to worsen our economy through ridiculous spending and laughable Green New Deal "solutions." 

House Freedom Caucus Votes Against CHIPS-Plus Act

The Senate's "CHIPS-Plus" Act will add $79 billion to our deficit and is loaded with crony capitalist handouts. I, along with my Freedom Caucus colleagues, voted against this bill, which is full of Green New Deal initiatives and radical "woke" policies. 

Critical Race Theory is a Threat to Our Republic

Today, my colleagues and I introduced a resolution that thoroughly explains the Marxist roots of Critical Race Theory (CRT). It is inherently anti-American to sort children into different categories based on the color of their skin. CRT must be denounced and removed from our educational institutions.

This dangerous ideology stands in direct opposition to our nation's founding principles and the promises outlined in the Declaration of Independence. CRT is a direct threat to the future of our republic. This radical ideology must be opposed in every form and rooted out from our schools immediately.
