Hi John,

Earlier this month, my team asked you to share your priorities for 2020. I greatly appreciate the time so many of you took to thoughtfully articulate what matters most to you right now.

The team tallied up your answers and I wanted to share with you the results and how I’m working on these issues in Congress. These were the top three issues chosen by those who responded:

• Protecting and Expanding Health Care: I have been a staunch advocate for ensuring that no American is denied health care on the basis of preexisting conditions or because they cannot afford it. I will continue to protect the Affordable Care Act and fight to expand health care coverage for more Americans, all while working to reduce prescription drug prices.
• Safeguarding Social Security: As a nation, we have made a commitment to our seniors for what they have contributed over their long careers to support them no matter what. I will always honor the work our seniors have contributed and I believe we need to make programs like Social Security more efficient and accessible and increase benefits so that more seniors have the opportunity for comfortable, secure retirements.
• Protecting our Environment and Combating Climate Change: I’m fighting for a 21st-century energy policy that creates jobs, while also reducing our emissions to fight climate change. We need to use our resources in an environmentally responsible manner and invest in sustainable clean energy technologies to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.
