As America has watched the January 6th committee hearings unfold in anger and terror as we learned just how close the insurrectionists came to overthrowing our democracy, our Republican opponent has been radio silent.
In fact, he won’t even make a comment to the largest newspaper in our region:
“U.S. Rep. Pete Stauber declined an interview request to react to testimony
from police officers assaulted during the Jan. 6 insurrection
attempt on the U.S. Capitol.” –Duluth News Tribune
Pete Stauber is so loyal to Donald Trump and the extreme factions of the Republican Party that he doesn’t have the guts to take a stand against the insurrection. It’s time for him to go.

The contrast between Pete Stauber and Jen Schultz could not be more clear – especially when it comes to the insurrection and protecting our democracy. Jen is not afraid to take a stand for what’s right, and she’ll always speak out and fight against any attempts to dismantle our democracy or disenfranchise Americans.
You would think that would be a baseline of what to expect from our elected leaders, but Pete Stauber will do whatever extremists in the Republican Party tell him to do so he can stay in power.
