This week, reports emerged confirming that members of Trump's inner circle were planning to submit fake electors on January 6th to give Vice President Pence an excuse to not certify the election. The New York Times has a good bit of investigative journalism here:

These emails show that Trump and his backers KNEW that Trump had lost the election. They KNEW that what they were doing was wrong. They did it anyway: because when faced with a choice between clinging to power and democracy, they chose power.

The modern Republican Party is dishonest when they claim to have "concerns" about the elections. These emails make it clear that -- at the top -- these "concerns" were always fake. They were lies used to trick their base into protesting the election results and the attack on the Capitol on January 6th.

A lot of Americans still believe these lies. I know -- I talk to them. Successful, well-dressed Republicans insist that I watch conspiracy theory drivel like "2,000 Mules." It's disturbing.

We cannot trust the GOP with the power of Congress when they have proved willing and eager to lie to Americans about something as fundamental as our elections. Doug LaMalfa helped spread the "Big Lie". I need your help to kick him out of Congress.
