The first thing to know about Alek Skarlatos is that he's an extreme ideologue.

When Alek ran for Congress against Peter DeFazio in 2020, he was proud of his loyalty to Donald Trump and the dangerous MAGA agenda.

He was such a MAGA die hard that he wouldn't admit that Trump lost the 2020 presidential election and even cheered on the January 6 insurrectionists on social media.

But now that he knows our community won't send a right-wing radical to Congress, Alek is trying to rebrand himself on every issue, from climate change to standing with workers, to health care.

And we aren't going to let Alek get away gaslighting this district into thinking he's not the extremist we know he is, John.

Here's the thing: we know that Alek is a dangerous, divisive extremist; he practically bragged about it just two years ago. And we know that Alek's newfound posture on these issues is disingenuous.

Like a tiger trying to change its stripes, Alek Skarlatos is hoping that voters in this district won't learn about his true positions on the things that matter to Oregonians – and it's our job to make sure he doesn't get away with it.
