It’s been a little over a month since the Supreme Court handed down its appalling decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
I’ve been working tirelessly, using every possible avenue available, to protect reproductive health and ensure access to abortion.
I want to share more about what I’ve been doing, but first, I need to ask for your help. All of the work my colleagues and I are doing in the Senate would be made easier if we expand our majority. It’s also work that would immediately stop if Republicans regain control.

I’ve spoken often about the urgent need for the Senate to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act which would codify into law access to abortion. I am still working to convince my colleagues to take the steps necessary for this to pass with 50 votes in the Senate.
But even absent the WHPA, there’s a lot we can do. I’ve joined several of my Democratic colleagues in recent days to introduce legislation to protect reproductive health.
- The Freedom to Travel for Health Care Act of 2022 is legislation would make it illegal for anti-choice states to limit travel for abortion services.
- The Expanding Access to Family Planning Act would protect access to reproductive health care services like birth control and cancer screenings by providing a strong source of funding for the Title X Family Planning Program.
- The Right to Contraception Act would codify into law Americans’ rights to contraception, and protect against the Supreme Court’s insinuation that further attacks on reproductive rights are to come.
