I’ve been thinking a lot about what is at stake this year, as we head into the last weekend before the primary.

The Supreme Court taking away our rights was both heartbreaking and infuriating, but it should also make us clear eyed about what is at stake in the midterms elections. This is personal to me – as a former Planned Parenthood staffer, as a queer woman, as a lawmaker. I know just how dangerous it is.

A lot of you have told me how lucky you feel to live in a state that will protect and expand our rights to reproductive freedom. But that’ll only be true if we continue to win elections and defeat extreme, anti-women candidates like my opponent.

We know what my opponent’s going to do if he wins this year – he wants to defund abortion clinics and strip us of our rights. I can’t think of anything more extreme and more dangerous than dictating the terms of another person’s pregnancy.

And we know that people like him won’t stop there. They’ll come for birth control, they’ll come for Paid Family Leave, they’ll come for so much more. And his side is energized this year – they are pouring money into this race to try and unseat me. I need your help to fight back.

This Sunday is our last deadline before the August primary, and we need to send a clear message that we’re not going down without a fight. We have $3,340 left to raise to hit our July goal. Can I count on your help today?
