I wanted to catch you before the weekend because Sunday is our 100 days until Election Day marker. Our team needs to raise another $35K before then to stay on track to organize district-wide in what’s expected to be the toughest House race in the entire country.
From leading the charge to codify same-sex marriage to pushing through bills that strengthen our supply chains, I’m in Congress to fight for you. Now, we have to roll up our sleeves to ensure that I can keep going.
Here’s my original message from a little earlier in the week for the full context on why this deadline is so important:
Hey there —
In just one week, Kansans are going to the polls to decide the future of abortion rights in our state. This is a monumental moment for Kansas and I want to take this opportunity to tell you what it means, but first I have to ask you to step up right now for my campaign as we approach just 100 days until Election Day. Click here to chip in $20.
Now, here are the key facts:
On August 2nd, Kansans will be voting to remove our state’s protections for abortion.
This will allow our Republican state legislature to push through a TOTAL abortion ban statewide—with no exceptions for rape or incest—which is exactly what my opponent wants.
If this ballot initiative passes, our opponent will look at it as a major victory ahead of November’s general election. Even worse? Outside groups will invest more in our race to support her as a result.
We have to take action right away to prevent the worst outcome not just for our race but for all Kansans.
I’m proud of our work this month to codify same-sex marriage, which already passed in the House and is on the path to becoming law.
That’s what our team does, work across the aisle to pass legislation that improves working Kansans’ lives and reach voters where they are. And that’s how we’ll beat Amanda Adkins just like we did by 10 points in 2020. But I need you with me to win.
