Twenty years ago today, Doctors Without Borders was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. We received the prize in recognition of our pioneering humanitarian work on several continents and to honor our medical staff.
Doctors Without Borders was created to help people in crisis. As humanitarians, we reach out to people facing the most difficult circumstances. And today—just as we described in our Nobel acceptance speech 20 years ago—we do it “one bandage at a time, one suture at a time, one vaccination at a time.”
We challenge pharmaceutical companies to keep their prices fair so those who need them can access them. We refuse to tolerate policies that put people’s lives in danger.
This email was sent from the U.S. section of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care.
