If we have any chance of revitalizing American manufacturing, we need to invest in semiconductor production.
Friend,
Semiconductors are in nearly every technological device sold in the world, from phones, tablets and laptops to cars to life-saving hospital equipment.
Not too long ago, 37% of those semiconductors were manufactured right here in the United States. We were one of the leading producers in the world and our dominance meant jobs, stability, and dignity for thousands of American families. Today, the US produces just 12 percent of semiconductors, behind Taiwan, South Korea, and China.
We can’t afford to fall behind. It’s time to invest in American manufacturing to ensure good middle-class jobs for the next generation.
Sign here to support the revitalization of the American semiconductor industry.
That’s why I support the CHIPS for America Act, which would unlock $52 billion in federal funding to revitalize the American semiconductor industry and make us competitive again.
The House and Senate passed the CHIPS for America Act last year, but the two bills still need to be reconciled in committee before President Biden can sign it into law. Meanwhile, US manufacturers are struggling to keep up with demand and we’re losing opportunity to overseas competitors. This is unacceptable. If we have any chance of revitalizing American manufacturing and keeping up with China, we need to invest in semiconductor production.
Sign our petition to advance the CHIPS for America Act and bring us back to the top of the industry once again.
Yours in solidarity,
Ro
