MSP Airport Meet the Fleet -C130
The Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP) is a joint civil-military airport and is home to the 133rd Airlift Wing of the Minnesota Air National Guard (ANG) and the 934th Airlift Wing of the Air Force Reserve (AFR).
The ANG and AFR have a fleet of eight Lockheed C130 Hercules aircraft to facilitate the mission of providing worldwide deployment of people, cargo and services. The C130 first entered service in 1956. The ANG use the C130 for formation air drop missions. That is why you'll often see these aircraft flying in and out of MSP in pairs, or formation.
The C130 is the latest aircraft highlighted in MSP's Meet the Fleet video series. This series gives viewers behind the scenes information about different aircraft types. The C130 Meet the Fleet video is available for viewing on the Metropolitan Airports Commission Meet the Fleet website page and MSP's YouTube Channel.
Upcoming Sanitary Sewer Rate Changes
The City of Mendota Heights is adjusting the rate structure on how residents and commercial customers are billed for sanitary sewer services in order to charge more equitably for usage, simplify the billing system, promote water conservation and keep pace with expenses.
The quarterly base fee for metered residential and commercial service will decrease and no longer include discharge, while the usage rate will increase from $3.50 to $4.67 per 100 cubic feet. Based on this structure, over 40% of residential customers should see a decrease in their sanitary sewer bill, while the average consumer will see an increase of less than $10 per quarter.
The late fee will change from a flat fee of $4.00 to 5% of the total bill and the grace period for late payments will increase from 21 to 30 days.

NATURAL RESOURCES
Callahan Boulevard Native Planting
The Boulevard along the west side of Callahan Place received a makeover this week. Approximately 300 native flowers, grasses, and shrubs were planted within City right-of-way along Callahan Boulevard with the help of local resident Rosemary Husbands and City Volunteer Renae Goldman. The project began when the area was cleared of trees and brush under overhead utility lines, which consisted mainly of common buckthorn and other invasive species. Rosemary saw the opportunity to restore the area with a native planting instead of allowing the invasive species to grow back. She contacted the City, and the project became a partnership to restore the area; creating a space for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife, as well as adding some aesthetic enhancement for residents to enjoy.
