A new political third party was announced by former Republican and Democrat officials, known as the Forward party.

The Forward party will initially be co-chaired by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and the former Republican governor of New Jersey, Christine Todd Whitman. Officials hope to create a viable alternative to the Democratic and Republican parties, which dominate U.S. politics.

Almost One Million Californians Lack Safe Drinking Water

An audit of the State Water Resources Control Board found that nearly a million California residents don’t have access to safe drinking water and are currently receiving dangerous water from failing systems. The Board reported that more than 370 systems do not meet water quality standards. 

More than two-thirds of these systems are located in disadvantaged and low-income communities.

Tell California Governor Gavin Newsom to improve the State Water Board and give all Californians safe drinking water.

First Polio Case Found in the U.S. Since 2013

A case of polio was reported last week in New York, the first the U.S. has seen in almost a decade, according to state and county health departments. The patient was unvaccinated and is no longer contagious, but has developed paralysis.

For those vaccinated in the U.S., the case should be little cause for concern. The New York health departments and the CDC recommend that those unvaccinated against polio receive the vaccine.

And, In The End...

It's International Tiger Day, a day to raise awareness about the endangered big cat. The day was first celebrated in 2010 when it was discovered that 97% of all tigers had disappeared. Today, tigers are still on the brink of extinction.
