Hi Friend,
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is witnessing an unprecedented surge in measles cases around the world—particularly Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, and Liberia. Multiple factors are driving this issue, including the COVID-19 pandemic, disruptions to health services due to violent conflict, and strained health systems failing people in need. Furthermore, measles outbreaks can create dangerous compounding crises in areas with widespread malnutrition.
This is how we’re treating measles cases and preventing future outbreaks:
Our teams are committed to addressing the gaps in immunizations and treatment as the surge in measles cases around the world continues to climb.
This email was sent from the U.S. section of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care.
