FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

*Skagit River Bridge Debris Removal*

Skagit County will begin removing large woody debris from the abandoned railroad bridge adjacent to the Highway 9, Skagit River Bridge. Work will begin on Monday, August 1st. and continue through Friday, August 5th. Debris will be pulled loose and released to float downstream as required by permitting.

The removal of this debris is critical before the next flood season as logs on the piers tend to catch additional debris during high river levels in the winter months.
