Mentors Matter in Increasing Diversity in Nursing
A mentor can make a world of difference to a student struggling to thrive. That’s especially true for students from populations that are typically underrepresented in nursing. The World Health Organization has named 2020 the Year of the Nurse. That’s one reason the American Nurses Association plans to expand its celebration of National Nurses Week to last an entire month. ANA wants nurses’ ideas for a theme: Choose one of six offered, or suggest your own.

What are the best ways to address food and housing insecurity, which are often the root causes of other health problems? Nursing Education Perspectives will devote its fall 2020 issue to The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health report, 10 years after its publication. Fellowship Encourages Better Use of Statistics
Statistical information plays an important role in informing actions to improve health. Guided by that idea, the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and AcademyHealth developed a fellowship program, geared toward senior researchers, to encourage the use of NCHS data systems and programs.
