Friends -
Earlier this week, my Democratic colleagues in the Senate announced agreement on a proposed draft of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, legislation that — if passed — would be the most significant investment in environmental justice and climate action in American history.
I'll explain more in just a moment, but if you're ready to add your name to my petition in support of this historic act, please use this link. Our movement's collective voice on this issue is so important — especially today. [[link removed]]

First, a quick rundown of what this proposed $369 billion package would do:

All this and more, paid for by raising over $700 billion in revenue by making our country's largest and most powerful corporations pay their fair share in taxes, and through much-needed prescription drug price reform.
My message to our movement and the young climate activists who have fought relentlessly for a livable future is this: When we work together, when we refuse to back down, we win.
I will be the first to admit: This package is not everything we want. The Inflation Reduction Act is not the Green New Deal.
What it is, however, is a major step forward toward everything we need.
This agreement represents a hard-fought victory, and if passed, will be a landmark piece of legislation in our movement's fight for climate justice and the future of our planet.
Our journey to fully realize the Green New Deal continues, and I promise you that I will keep up our fight every single day in the U.S. Senate. But if we're going to have a chance at making our dream a reality, we must pass this bill.
In order for that to happen, our nationwide progressive movement has to stand together — and with this legislation headed to the Senate floor next week, I need you with me today.
That's why I'm asking:
Add your name to my petition if you agree: The Senate must pass the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 and take this major step forward in our fight for climate justice. This is important. [[link removed]]

Thank you for making your voice heard. And thank you for all that you do in our collective struggle for a just and livable future for all.
I'll be in touch again soon.
