Stolen seats in the Supreme Court, stolen seats on our boards of education.

Team,

Education is at the heart of every policy I vote on, the lens through which I raised my daughters, and how I navigate the world. Not just because I am an educator myself, but because I was brought up with the belief that education can open doors, provide economic and social mobility, and reshape the world.

So, when Glenn Youngkin – a private equity multimillionaire who has no real interest in public service – wants to reshape the entire Virginian educational system, he can count on me to ensure he does not get his way.

Seeing headlines like this are more than infuriating.

Youngkin and GOP board majorities could reshape education, environment, elections. But six months into his term, Youngkin’s appointments to key state boards have given him the regulatory muscle to impact those policies anyway. His picks could eventually give the Republican lasting influence over issues ranging from abortion to elections — even if the GOP never wins complete control of the legislature during his term. - VPM

Let’s be clear: individuals had already been named to about a dozen of these board seats by our previous Governor. With the goal of controlling public education, our environment, and democratic elections, key appointments were blocked by the GOP. It’s the same old GOP playbook: stolen seats in the Supreme Court, stolen seats on our boards.

That’s why it’s important that we not allow the GOP any further opportunities to dismantle our hard work. It’s absolutely imperative that we expand our Senate majority, and take back the House and the governor’s seat.

Let’s do this,
