Hacks vs. Heroes

This morning on Fox & Friends, I watched a gut-wrenching interview with the family of Joshua Watson, a Naval Academy graduate who was shot five times by a jihadist at Naval Air Station Pensacola last week.  With his last breaths, Joshua identified the shooter and directed police officers to his location.

The Watson family is a microcosm of what makes America great.  They raised their son to love our country and to serve our country.  But he's been sacrificed on the altar of political correctness because some still are not serious about the dangers of radical Islamic supremacism.

This isn't the first time a U.S. military base has been attacked from within.  Remember Nidal Hasan?  He killed 14 people on Fort Hood after accusing our soldiers of war crimes.  Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez killed four Marines in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 2015.

Sadly, the Watsons are the type of family that a lot of coastal elites just can't relate to and don't care to.  They are the people Hillary Clinton mocked as "deplorable and irredeemable," the ones Barack Obama ridiculed as clinging to their Bibles and guns.

But if America ever runs out of families like the Watsons, our country is doomed.

Watching this family mourn this morning, I wondered if they will ever have another merry Christmas.  And as they weep this Christmas, just think about what other Americans are doing right now in Washington, D.C.

Did Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Reps. Adam Schiff or Jerry Nadler get up this morning thinking about the Watson family?  In my opinion, there aren't many issues more important than addressing what happened to their son.  But that's not what is motivating the progressive left today.

While the Watsons gave up their son for America, partisan hacks on Capitol Hill are putting their political ambitions ahead of America.  Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler are tearing this country apart with this sham impeachment because they can't stomach a president who is challenging the status quo.  Click here now to help American Values fight this impeachment insanity!

Because of Schiff's obsession with taking down Trump and canceling the votes of 63 million Americans, the House Intelligence Committee hasn't spent a whole lot of time lately on actual intelligence matters.  When was the last time the committee got a briefing on the value and risks of this program to train foreign troops on our bases?

The shooter in Pensacola was on social media expressing his hatred for America. He was very open about his hatred of Israel too.  Maybe the FBI should spend less time surveilling members of Congress, journalists and conservative campaigns and spend more time monitoring Islamists!

Perhaps Adam Schiff and others in his impeachment cabal should spend Christmas with the Watson family.  In between their weeping, he can try explaining to them why progressives have spent so much time pursuing impeachment instead of looking out for Joshua.

As long as America still produces heroes like Joshua Watson, I have hope for our future.  But if we become controlled by the hacks in Washington, more and more Americans will question why they are sacrificing their sons when we can't trust our intelligence agencies to do their jobs!

Gross Abuses & Bad Faith

In an interview with NBC News, Attorney General William Barr provided a blistering assessment of the FBI's spying on the Trump campaign and the fake news media.  Consider these excerpts:

"I think from a civil liberties standpoint, the greatest danger to our free system is that the incumbent government use the apparatus of the state . . .  both to spy on political opponents, but also to use them in a way that could affect the outcome of an election.  As far as I am aware, this is the first time in history that this has been done. . . And here I felt this was very flimsy. . .

"I think our nation was turned on its head for three years based on a completely bogus narrative that was largely fanned and hyped by a completely irresponsible press.  I think there were gross abuses . . . and inexplicable behavior that is intolerable in the FBI.  I think that leaves open the possibility that there was bad faith."

Barr isn't the only one deeply upset by the FBI's actions.  In a scathing statement, Iowa's usually low-key Senator Charles Grassley blasted the Bureau, saying:

"Anyone who values fundamental civil liberties in the United States should be disgusted and terrified by what the inspector general uncovered . . . on the FBI's spying on an American citizen. . .

"The FBI's job is to protect Americans, our democracy and our rights. Its actions have done great harm to the public trust and jeopardize the important work that rank-and-file agents do every day for our nation."

Sen. Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, said this at a press conference yesterday:

"I believe . . . the [FBI] not only got off the rails but . . . became a criminal enterprise to defraud the FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] court, to deny American citizen Carter Page his constitutional rights and to continue an operation against President Trump . . . that I think was fundamentally flawed and unlawful."

Don't forget, my friends, that career prosecutor John Durham, who is still investigating the Deep State, felt compelled yesterday to state publicly that he did not agree with the inspector general's "conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened."

By the way, something else in the Horowitz report that the media are largely ignoring is that Devin Nunes was right about the FBI's FISA abuses and Adam Schiff was wrong.  And now we're trusting Schiff's "research" in the impeachment of President Trump.

Good News

  • A deal has been reached to advance the USMCA -- the Trump Administration's rework of NAFTA, rebalancing trade between the United States, Mexico and Canada.  This is a big win for the president and for American workers.
  • The Supreme Court has upheld a Kentucky law requiring abortionists to perform ultrasounds on women seeking abortions.  This is a critical win for the pro-life cause as ultrasounds provide a window into the womb, putting the humanity of the unborn child on full display.
  • The Supreme Court also rejected a demand that taxpayers be forced to pay for gender reassignment surgeries for prison inmates.
  • Radical environmentalists and progressive politicians in New York lost a politically motivated attempt to bankrupt Exxon and other energy companies.  The case was dismissed "with prejudice," meaning it can't be filed again in New York.
  • Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is cutting the bureaucracy, eliminating 600 jobs at the massive department.
  • Meanwhile, Democrats have a new "frontrunner."  According to the latest Harvard-Harris poll, Hillary Clinton leads Joe Biden among Democrat primary voters 21% to 20%, followed by Bernie Sanders at 12%.
  • Speaking of Sanders, why is the Vermont socialist attracting so many anti-Semites?  Linda Sarsour is one of his leading surrogates, but the Sanders campaign had to fire a progressive operative just days after he accepted a top position due to anti-Semitic comments.
