Shireen’s family meets with government officials in DC Dear Email, Shireen Abu Akleh’s family members are in Washington DC and met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken earlier this week to reiterate their demands for justice for the Palestinian-American journalist fatally shot by Israeli forces in May. AJP Action and our partners had the honor of meeting with the family yesterday, and I am writing you today with two actions you can take to demand justice for Shireen: 1- Call the State Department right now and demand justice for Shireen. Call (202) 647-6575 and select option #8. Here is a suggested script: “My name is ___, and I am a U.S. resident/citizen and supporter of Americans for Justice in Palestine Action. I am calling to follow up on the meeting between Secretary Blinken and the family of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. I urge the State Department to conduct a thorough and impartial U.S. investigation that leads to real accountability. Nothing short of that is acceptable.” 2- If you have not already, please register for our 2022 virtual Palestine Advocacy Days. It's free, and we'll be joined by hundreds of activists from around the country from September 19th-23rd to meet with Congress and deliver our demands for accountability for Shireen’s murder.
