July is notoriously hard for fundraising. It's part of what campaigns call the "summer slump," the summer months when fundraising numbers take a nosedive as people spend more time outside with their friends and family and less time online.

As a result, our fundraising has fallen a bit behind, and we're at risk of not reaching our July fundraising goal. If we come up short this month, we might have to start making budget cuts. With just over 100 days until Election Day, we can't afford to let that happen.

Election experts are calling our race for Pennsylvania's 8th District a "toss up," and Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight even called it the most competitive House district in the country. That's why national Republicans have already announced they're pouring $2.7 million in this district to defeat Matt and retake the House majority.

We need to keep our fundraising on track from now until Election Day to fight back against these attacks flooding our district. But we can't do it without the support of this grassroots team.
